um... how is it that Christmas is less than a week away, and my shopping/baking/wrapping/cards did not complete themselves?

i don't appear to have been very organized this year, and what with new and different commitments on my time (see prev. entry *g*), i really should have planned a bit more. didn't, should have. so. i've resigned myself to a little JIT shopping, and am trying to focus a bit more on spending time with people, approximately about Christmas (because it's just not possible to see everyone *on* Christmas, nice/chaotic as that might be).

and in light of trying to lighten up (or something like that), i think i'll indulge in a spate of silly holiday quizzes. :)

Silent Night
You are 'Silent Night'! You really enjoy Christmas, and you like your Christmases conventional. For you, Christmas is about family and traditions, and you rather enjoy the rituals of going to church at midnight and turning off the lights before flaming the plum pudding. Although you find Christmas shopping frustrating, you like the excitement of wrapping and hiding presents, and opening a single door on the Advent Calendar each day. You like the traditional carols, and probably teach the children to sing along to them. More than anyone else, you will probably actually have a merry Christmas.

You're Crag, aka Prancer!
You are Crag, also known as Prancer! You are the original rough-and-tumble reindeer, you'd be the one smoking in a leather jacket behind the tool shed. But you're a powerful reindeer, and you need to make up for the weaker ones, right?

Which of Santa's eight reindeer are you?

i have a small confession to make.

i've been sitting on some news for a few days. there were people i wanted to talk to, and people he wanted to talk to, and phone calls have been successfully made, and now i can say it here:

The Dane and i are officially engaged.

yep. amidst all the other holiday insanity, trying to plan and shop and get organized and have a life, we decided to make it official.

there are stories to follow, of course; but, for now, i just want to say this: babe, i love you very much. and thank you for choosing to make me part of your life. :)
